Your Home is Where His Heart Wants to Be.

In honor of the Feasts of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we celebrated Enthronement Weekend at St. Patrick Parish on June 16th and 17th!

We thank our parishioners for taking this opportunity to enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus in their homes, giving our Lord His rightful place of honor at the center of our lives.

What is the Sacred Heart?

As revealed in an apparition to St. Margaret Mary, the Sacred Heart is the heart of our Lord “which has so loved men that it spared nothing, even going so far as to exhaust and consume Itself, to prove to them Its love.” His Sacred Heart is Love embodied, exactly the kind of limitless, unconditional love we strive to imitate in our daily lives.

What does it mean to enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus?

Most of us cherish photos of loved ones that we hold dear. For many of us, these images act as special reminders of our relationships with those they represent, of the love that others have for us and the love we have for others.

The age-old Catholic Tradition of Enthronement is built upon a similar premise: that by giving our Lord’s Sacred Heart a place of visual prominence in our homes, we are committing an act of adoration and consecrating our families to Him. As a result of this gesture, our homes and our families receive precious graces and blessings. When a home is enthroned, the tabernacle of our parish church becomes one with our home and we express an unwavering desire to make Christ the King of our families.

How do I get started?

If you were unable to attend one of the masses on the 16th or 17th, call our parish office for more information. During our parish enthronement weekend, we began the enthronement process in mass with the blessing of enthronement packets. Included were beautiful photos of Jesus and Mary. We encourage you to hang them in place of honor in your home, creating a throne for Our Lord and his Blessed Mother.

Renewal of the Consecration of the Family

Most Sweet Jesus, humbly kneeling at Your feet, we renew the consecration of our family to Your Divine Heart. Be You our King forever! In You we have full and entire confidence. May Your spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words, and our works. Bless our undertakings; share in our joys, in our trials and our labors. Grant us to know You better, to love You more, to serve You without faltering.

By the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Peace, set up Your kingdom in our country. Enter closely into the midst of our families and make them Yours through the solemn enthronement of Your Sacred Heart, so that soon one cry may resound from home to home: “May the triumphant Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved, blessed, and glorified forever!” Honor and glory to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, protect our families. Amen.
