Give your child the gift of faith.

Families of our parish with children from Preschool through Eighth Grade are called to enroll them in our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP).

PREP meets once weekly, in the afternoon or evening (depending on day chosen), and provides a unique opportunity for children with a secularized education to reap the benefits of a supplementary religious curriculum—by which they will grow in love and depth of faith.

A religious education is an essential foundational block for a young life as it is most critical to establish spiritual roots in the formative years of first through eighth grade. PREP students will find in each weekly meeting an opportunity to strengthen their relationships with our Lord, become young people of integrity and form connections with other faith-filled children.

Along with song, scripture and other engaging activities, each PREP student is automatically enrolled in our sacramental preparation program. Sacramental prep will educate students on the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion and Confirmation—and the children will receive the sacraments with the students of our parochial school. We follow archdiocesan guidelines and use archdiocesan-approved textbooks as well as other instructional aids in our PREP curricula.

Our parish mission is to partner with parents/guardians in fostering children’s growth in holiness, relationship with God, and knowledge of the faith. PREP is open to all registered parishioners in Preschool through Grade 8 who attend public or private, non-Catholic school.

Share the Good News with Our Youth

Parishioners who would like to share their Catholic Faith with the children of our parish are called to serve as PREP instructors.

It is the generosity, faith and dedication of such individuals that enlighten our young people and gently shape a new generation of faith-filled Disciples of Christ. You do not have to have a child in the program to volunteer. For more information, please contact Sr. Eileen at 610-296-8899 or etiernan@stpatrickmalvern.org.

PREP not only provides our children an opportunity to build on the foundation of their faith, it presents you with a wonderful volunteer opportunity to share your God-given gifts—your time, your talent, and, above all, your faith—with the children of St. Patrick Parish. The success and high standards of the parish’s Religious Education Program depends on the efforts of volunteers.

We offer training and the support of many resources. God will not be outdone in generosity. If you open your heart to give of yourself, you will be amazed at what the Lord accomplishes through you.
